Consisting of handwritten text on thirteen numbered sheets of adhesive-backed 4"x6" paper, the Codex Via LXXXII was found pasted to a plastic electrical conduit adjacent to a power pole at the uninviting corner of SE 82nd Ave and Bush St. in Portland Oregon in the autumn of 2023.
Its content is fairly standard paranoid surveillance threat rant, but its presentation is its main source of interest. The conduit is of so small a diameter that no full line of text is visible from a single position, making it so difficult to read that it is highly unlikely any passerby would ever do so. The desire to communicate this information while presenting it in a way that makes communicating it nearly impossible is what sets it apart from the average public rant. One section was found to have been damaged, and repaired with a nearly identical replacement, revealed after a piece was again torn away and stuck to a nearby pole. This suggests the making of multiple copies of the same material, which may be similarly presented elsewhere. On all but the first sheet the text begins and ends with quotation marks, indicating that the words are someone else's and not those of the writer themselves.
